Trainee patent attorney
Vincent joined NLO in 2016. Prior to this, he worked in Research & Development at a large dairy company, performing various research and managerial roles in the field of product and process development. He focussed on cheese and other consumer products.
Vincent has a scientific background in chemical and polymer engineering. After obtaining his PhD, his focus shifted towards food technology, where he specialized in cheese and cheese processing, consumer products (such as yoghurt, desserts and dairy drinks) and preservation of dairy products (chemical, physical-chemical, enzymatic, microbial and technological aspects).
Vincent studied chemical engineering at the University of Groningen, for his graduation thesis he investigated the purification of wastewater with bioreactors. He went on to conduct his PhD research at the University of Groningen, after an internship at the University of Waterloo in Canada where he focussed on polymer technology. For his PhD research, he studied the optimization of the reactive extrusion of polyurethane in cooperation with an industrial partner.
