Diptanil joined NLO in 2016.
Diptanil is specialised in telecommunication, signal processing, wireless communication, wireless networks and algorithms. He has co-authored more than 15 scientific publications in various well reputed conferences and journals.
Diptanil has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications (Sathyabama University, India, 2008) and a master’s degree in Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), from 2008-2010. During his masters study, he was the recipient of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) scholarship from the Indian government. His research at IISc focused on designing improved network coded transmission protocols for wireless medium access control.
He spent the first two years (2011-2012) of his PhD research at TU Delft, Netherlands, under the supervision of Professor Ignas Niemegeers. He then moved to TU Eindhoven, Netherlands, to complete his PhD, (2013-2016), under the supervision of Professor Sonia Heemstra de Groot. His PhD research primarily focused on studying the network management and control issues over radio-over-fiber based indoor wireless communication.
