Trainee patent attorney
Bart joined NLO in 2015. Prior to this, he was product development manager for automatic dishwashing at Unilever R&D in Vlaardingen. In that capacity he worked on the development of new detergents, rolling out existing products and developing innovative dosing devices.
Bart has experience in developing new detergents for the consumer market. This experience covers the entire product development process from research idea to market launch. Bart also has a scientific background in physical chemistry, food technology and consumer goods.
In 2008 Bart obtained his PhD in (physical) chemistry at Wageningen University. His experimental and theoretical research focused on the absorption behaviour of surfactants and polymers from aqueous mixtures. Prior to embarking on his PhD, Bart studied applied physics at Groningen University, specialising in biomedical technology. He completed his graduation with a research project on bacterial adhesion at Yale University in the USA.
