Ioannis Papapetridis

Trainee patent attorney
Innovations in Life Sciences and Biotechnology will play a key role in providing viable solutions to current societal challenges. But innovations must be protected and that is why I joined NLO as a trainee patent attorney in 2019. My years of academic and industrial experience in these rapidly evolving fields have enabled me to understand and provide tailor-made protection for your inventions.

Expertise

  • Biotechnology
  • Pharmacy
  • Gene therapy
  • Oligonucleotide
  • Plants

My PhD research focused on sustainable fermentative production of biofuels. I used modern metabolic engineering techniques to generate superior yeast strains able to produce more ethanol from less sugar.

At NLO, I am uniquely positioned to help others protect their own exciting ideas.

Before joining NLO, I conducted R&D at DSM. While there, I worked at the interface between genetics and fermentation technology to translate business needs into optimal designs for maximisation of industrial bioprocess performance. My own inventions introduced me to the world of intellectual property and made me realise the importance of safeguarding innovation. At NLO, I am uniquely positioned to help others protect their own exciting ideas.
