I enjoy working closely with a wide range of clients, from helping start-ups build-up competitive IP portfolios to handling IP portfolios for multinationals. I thrive on dealing with contentious issues with experience in managing oppositions/appeals at the European Patent Office and litigation before the Dutch national courts.
I have a research background in medicinal chemistry/chemical biology, working on interdisciplinary projects concerning tropical diseases, antibiotic resistance and anti-cancer agents. My background in crossover research projects provides me with a broad foundation for supporting clients across diverse chemical areas including, food, pharma, and process chemistry. Borderline medical devices/medicinal products are a particular interest of mine.
Besides drafting and prosecuting patent applications, I focus on SPC’s, developing attack/defence strategies in opposition/appeal. I enjoy managing contentious cases and conducting oral proceedings.
Outside work, I enjoy swapping the Lowlands for the highlands of Scotland for mountain hikes.
