Before becoming a patent attorney, I worked for the R&D department of a major telecommunications company. This is also where I first ventured into intellectual property rights, in 2002, before going on to work for a number of different patent offices.
Besides working as a registered Dutch, Belgian and European Patent Attorney, I have extensive experience with US patent application procedures.
The granting of a patent is a very interesting process. But at least as interesting is the enforcement of patent rights in practice. Thanks to ample experience with IP-related lawsuits, I know which aspects are particularly important in the patent process, as well as what it helps to focus on when drawing up a patent application.
