About NLO

NLO, a leading IP-firm based in the Netherlands and Belgium, is also growing and looking for an additional partly or fully qualified European Patent Attorney with a background within physics or mechanical engineering to help our clients navigate the patent system.

You will join a team of experienced patent attorneys who have come from differing backgrounds: industry or previous IP firms, but who share the same vision of what IP should mean to a company.

 

You are a strong personality who can impart knowledge and experience across the team when required but who can also show consistent high work output. Your career trajectory is aimed to becoming (Associate) Partner and you will be given the 'tools' to help you get there.

 

What you will be doing

As a patent attorney, you play an important role in bringing innovation to the market. Thanks to the combination of your technical expertise and your legal skills, you deal with varied patent issues at national and international clients. You are in the privileged position to sit down with inventors, heads of research, in-house attorneys and commercial leaders to advise them on the protection of their inventions and knowledge and actively help them managing and developing their patent portfolio. Within your team, you will get the opportunity to access support from highly experienced attorneys and from day one you will be actively involved in the day to day business.

 

Your professional qualities

Besides an university degree and a completed Masters/ PhD in the field of e.g. Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, Civil or Aerospace Engineering, you recognize yourself in the following competencies:

·         EQE qualified Patent Attorney

·         Investigative & creative

·         Analytic & accurate

·         Stress tolerant, client-focused

·         Excellent English and Dutch oral and writing skills.
