Arthur joined NLO in 1999.
Arthur’s areas of expertise include organic and pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, food technology and the prosecution of supplementary protection certificates. He has been involved in several litigation procedures and conducts many opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO. Arthur works for major multinationals, universities and university-based startups as well as research institutes.
Arthur has a PhD from the University of Amsterdam (1995) where his work on catalytic antibodies covered all aspects from organic synthesis, biochemistry, immunology to molecular biology.
Arthur is a member of the Dutch Group of the International Association AIPPI.
The combination of several fields of expertise was made more profound by his work on transfection agents for mammalian cells during a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Groningen University (Netherlands). In Groningen, he also jointly set up a company in transfection reagents.
