I firmly believe that the perspectives gained by switching between these different roles create a solid basis for growth and development. I feel most in my element when I’m learning from my client and my client is also learning from me.
The development of pharmaceuticals, and all the aspects involved, is where my heart lies. My work in supplementary protection certificates (SPC) and generic pharmaceutical launches provides a perfect opportunity for me to combine my technical and legal knowledge and experience. The challenge of familiarising myself with new specialised fields away from the world of pharmaceuticals is also very satisfying. And that’s when I really enjoy seeing inventors’ passion for their technologies.
My interest in taking on new challenges is why, on two occasions, I have switched my place of work to oversee the start or expansion of new NLO offices, firstly in Eindhoven and then in Ghent. It’s also why I’m actively involved as a board member of the Dutch Association of Patent Attorneys and on the board of the institution responsible for training and educating patent attorneys in the Netherlands (SBO).
