I have a background in molecular life sciences, biomedical research and nutrition & health. After my studies in Wageningen, I worked for several years as a researcher at a biotech company. This is where I first came into contact with patents: we carried out an experiment to invalidate a third-party patent. In 2013 I started at NLO and in 2016 I qualified both as a Dutch (cum laude) and European patent attorney.
I then worked for four years as an in-house patent attorney for a large food company in Singapore. This gives me a good sense of what the client needs. In Singapore, I worked with multidisciplinary teams of many nationalities. Since coming back to the Netherlands I have returned to NLO, working in the chemistry team in The Hague.
