Sharina Ibrahim

Dutch and European patent attorney
With a background in biomedical sciences and a specialisation in biochemistry and molecular biology, I thrive on sharing innovative ideas and discovering creative solutions to complex problems while drafting patents, prosecutions and oppositions. My social skills in our team are reflected in my daily work as a patent attorney in the field of chemistry, with a particular focus on the food industry and pharmacology.

Expertise

  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Food

I gained extensive experience in the cardiovascular field, investigating both biochemical and metabolic aspects. During my master's research at the University of California, San Francisco, I led several projects and gained hands-on experience in cellular and molecular imaging and bioinformatics, while working in a great team of people from different backgrounds.

Protection of intellectual property is key to innovation and it is something I greatly value

After completing my studies, I realised that I wanted to have a bigger impact and further drive scientific innovation. The analytical skills I gained, together with my legal knowledge in the field of intellectual property, gave me the expertise to assess the patentability of new inventions and protect our clients' IP in the best possible way.
