Sharina Ibrahim

Dutch and European patent attorney
My background is in biomedical science and I am specialised in the processes of cellular signalling pathways, molecular mechanisms of action and biochemical properties in disorders. Sharing ideas and swiftly grasping the essence of a complex issue, while working in a team, are strengths that all come together during my training to become patent attorney in the field of chemistry.

Expertise

  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry

I have gained a lot of experience in the cardiovascular field regarding both the biomedical and clinical aspects. After my studies, I recognised I wanted to create a bigger impact and help further expand innovation in science.

Protection of intellectual property is key to innovation and it is something I greatly value.

As a trainee patent attorney, I can combine work and study, as well as gain business acumen while using my technical background. The analytical skills I gained during my previous experiences can be directly applied to assess the patentability of an invention and to help our clients protect their intellectual property using the most efficient approach.

Education

  • MSc in Cardiovascular Research, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
  • BSc in Biomedical Science, Universiteit van Amsterdam
