As a student, I decided to pursue a career as a patent attorney, motivated by a desire to engage with cutting-edge science and technology before it became publicly available and by the opportunity to work across a broad range of industries. I began my intellectual property career in the semiconductor division of an electronics manufacturer and successfully passed the Japanese patent attorney examination.
I then joined another electronics company, where I was responsible for patent prosecution and litigation involving optical discs, image sensors, and semiconductor lasers. As my work expanded globally, I gained hands-on experience with patent systems in the United States and China. Following that, I worked at a patent firm, providing services related to automotive technology and image compression.
I worked in patent licensing as part of an international team at a Dutch lighting manufacturer. Later, as a technical consultant at a consulting firm, I led a variety of projects, including industry surveys, IP landscape analysis, and technical due diligence. Supporting innovation, standardization, and new business development for major manufacturers and public organizations. I held an annual patent licensing lecture at Kanazawa Industrial University for ten years.
With a well-rounded background in the patent field, I am committed to protecting and advancing my clients’ best interests. I excel at clear communication, building strong relationships, and accurately understanding each client's needs and goals for their innovations.
