Dutch and European Patent Attorney
Willemijn joined NLO in 2012. Previously, she worked as a Research Scientist at InteRNA Technologies, combining molecular biology and bio-informatics. Prior to that, she spent two years working as a postdoctoral scientist at Lehigh University (US), specialising in RNA biology.
Willemijn specialises in biotechnology, particularly molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and gene therapy.
Willemijn has an MSc degree in Medical Biology (2002) from the University of Groningen and a PhD in Molecular/Medical Biology under Professor Dr. H.J. Haisma (department of Therapeutic Gene Modulation) from the same university (2006). Her PhD research involved adenoviral gene therapy and artificial transcription factors for cancer treatment.
