I am specialised in the areas of oligonucleotide-based technology (antisense, splicing modulation), immunology (antibodies, vaccines, TCR design, cell therapy), diagnostic, metabolic engineering, gene therapy, microbiology and genomics. Over the years I have gained extensive experience in handling European opposition proceedings up to the Boards of Appeal. I am also specialised in IP due diligences including IPO (Initial Public Offer) proceedings.

Prior to joining NLO I was patent attorney at DSM. Prior to that, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Dutch Cancer Institute wherein I focused on immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
