De Spelen: hot weather, enthusiastic volunteers and a lot of happy kids

De Spelen started with a special opening ceremony: a parade of flags and the lighting of the Olympic flame. Then De Spelen could begin! Groups of children competed in 10 sports/games, such as tennis, volleyball, athletics and sumo wrestling. The volunteers accompanied a group of children or explained a game. It was a very hot day with 29°C. But with the sun out and enthusiastic volunteers the kids had a great day.

About De Spelen

The goal of De Spelen is to help underprivileged children discover different sports during an interactive sports day. They can discover various sports and their own talents under supervision. It is more important than ever to get all children moving. They cannot start early enough with the introduction of a healthy lifestyle.
