Patent attorneys Ben Brigou and Brigit den Adel appointed Associated Partners at NLO

Ben Brigou responds to his appointment: "I am honoured by this appointment and the recognition of NLO's positive development in Belgium. About Ben Brigou

From NLO's office in Mechelen, Ben Brigou leads a multidisciplinary team of patent attorneys and Formalities Officers. Brigou is a chemist with extensive experience as a patent attorney in the pharma, chemical, food, feed & agri industries. Brigou completed his professional patent attorney training at NLO but also has considerable experience in industry. Among others, Brigou worked for a pharmaceutical player within the Global Regulatory Affairs organisation, and at the listed Tessenderlo Group he was responsible for the patent portfolio of various business units working on chemical, agricultural and industrial solutions. He co-authored the second edition of the "SPC Handbook" (Stief, 2021), the definitive guide to supplementary protection certificates.

About Brigit den Adel

Brigit den Adel has worked at NLO in The Hague since 2015 and has extensive experience as a patent attorney at the interface of biology and chemistry. Den Adel has a PhD in the field of atherosclerosis, after which she acquired further research experience as a postdoc studying the heart-brain axis. As a postdoc, she became aware of the value of patents for businesses and acquired her first IP experience at a law firm specialised in IP lawsuits. In 2015, Den Adel moved to NLO where she completed her training to qualify as a Dutch and European patent attorney. Besides her daily work as a patent attorney, Brigit is actively involved in the case law team that writes about relevant case law of the European Patent Office.
